What is a good Car that can take us over the world? After many hours and months of research, we kind of had the answer. Our Car should have a 4x4, be elevated and if possible should come with snorkel so we could rock any unearthy terrain we would come across.  A timing chain (instead of a belt) would be preferable due to its quite indestructible design. A timing belt would need renewal at least every 100'000 kilometers. No to almost no rust, an existing motor vehicule control and an emissions test were of utmost importance. 

Another thing to consider was the brand we would take and the complexity of the car. An electric vehicule was fast out of our heads due to to high costs and impracticability outside of Europe. So it needed to be big brands that could offer shipping of spare parts around the world. It needed to be a brand that would not be looked at as luxurious outside of Europe (like for example german cars). In addition the car should have no to not much electric components so that Mechanics around the world are able to repair it. Or that we are able to try to repair ourselves. 

Speaking about the interior, the car should have an isolated interior and we should be able to stand in it. Preferable the cooking, heating, cooling and so on should be managed by a solarroof and some battery packs. The bed should be at least 2m long and 1,3m wide so we could have a comfortable sleep and our feet do not hang outside in the cold. Versions with swiffle seats and pop up tents we would favor more because we heard that always sitting and living in the same space could get really stressfull. Most important would be a shower, the possibility to cook inside and the chance to crawl to the front for starting the car and drive away without going outside. 

All these considerations in mind we started our search. Top brands we were looking after were Toyota, Mitsubishi and old VW Buses, but also Pick up trucks from Nissan and Ford and other brands. The best suitable car we found was an Land Cruiser that mostly fullfilled every request we had. Unfortunatly the cost of this car are expremly high in Switzerland so it was waaaay out of reach for us. Others that were in our range had to much rust, no papers or were consuming too much gasoline/diesel for our liking (because that will be the most pricy on our journey, even more than the cost of the car eventually). 

After checking many Ads we saw this mitsubishi L300 which seemed to be the best pick for us. With its 210'000 kilometer on the Tacho it is already quite an old Bus. The pre Owners started an Africa tour already in the years before so the bus is good prepared and so will hopefully we.
